Alliance Mondiale Contre le Cancer (AMCC) is a French non-profit organization focusing on retinoblastoma care in sub-Saharan Africa since 2011. The first program was conducted in Mali, Madagascar, Lubumbashi DRC, Senegal and Ivory Coast, with the support of Sanofi Espoir. A second program started in 2019 with the support of a Swiss foundation and was extended to most francophone, as well as many anglophones countries in the region.
The spectrum of AMCC work includes programs for early diagnosis of retinoblastoma, training programs for physicians, supply of equipment including diode laser, ophthalmoscope, cryotherapy devices and fundus cameras, and data collection as part of research studies.
AMCC hold regular periodic meetings with its members – physical and virtual.
In ISOO AFRICA we will hold a 3-hour workshop and discuss various aspects of retinoblastoma management and outcome, as well as interventions for early diagnosis and research topics. The full program, speakers and topics will be published shortly.
